Who are you?
Hi there, I am Stef, I set up Kyanchi Studio a Freelance Design Consultancy in 2020, based in Manchester, UK.
I work with a variety of clients from suppliers, retailers to start-up brands globally, providing key value & design support across multi-product apparel & print/ graphics/ surface pattern.
What is your background?
I have over a decades' worth of experience working in the fashion industry after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fashion design. Throughout my career I have worked with multitude of companies across many categories including brands, retailers & suppliers prior to starting up Kyanchi Studio.
First & foremost I am a Senior Apparel designer. However I have always been interested in print/ graphics/ surface pattern and originally come from an Art background, studying Art at both GCSE & A-Level, as a child all I did was draw & create!
And so I decided to teach myself graphic & print design digitally working on Adobe Suite so I could apply them to fashion, from the get-go. This has evolved into me being able to offer both print & shape design as key specialisms.
I don't believe in putting people in boxes & for me, being adaptable is key for growth as a designer.
I have had the opportunity to travel extensively over the years, which has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience working with manufacturing bases in China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, India, Turkey & Portugal. Plus additional experience of research & sourcing trips to destinations such as Los Angeles, Berlin, Seoul, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Stockholm, Ibiza & Copenhagen.
Customers designed for throughout my in-house career have included: Zara, Bershka, American Eagle, Forever 21, Encuentro, Cortefiel, FootAsylum, Threadbare, Reserved, Name It, Primark, TU, Florence & Fred, Nutmeg, Takko & many more.

I pride myself on being a strong all-rounder, adaptable & delivering to brief no matter what, whilst providing my own unique style.
